FAO Chair of Governors & Head Teacher/PrincipalConsultation on Admission Arrangements 2016/17

As you may be aware, all local authorities and schools that are their own admission authority are required to consult annually on their proposed admission arrangements (unless they are exempt from doing so in accordance with paragraph 1.42 of the School Admissions Code which states that where the admission arrangements have not changed from the previous year there is no requirement to consult, subject to the requirement that admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period.) The consultation period must last for a minimum of eight weeks, between 1 November and 1 March to ensure that all consultees have enough time to respond.

Nottingham City Council is proposing changes to community school admission arrangements from those that were determined for the 2015/16 school year, and we are consulting on these arrangements between 3 November 2014 and 2 January 2015. We have set up a webpage so that our proposed admission arrangements and the admission arrangements for any academies and voluntary aided schools within the city that are not exempt from the consultation process can be published and viewed for your information. The webpage can be found here

The webpage also provides a link to the Nottinghamshire County Council's website, should you wish to view the arrangements for the County Council, or any school within the county. Please be aware that the County Council is proposing to undertake consultation between 1 December 2014 and 31 January 2015 and therefore their site will go active from this date.
